Sustainability

At Hadley Property Group our aim is to build sustainable developments, helping to maintain a long term contribution to the well being of the planet and the environment, by transforming the way we plan, design, construct and maintain our schemes.

We also aim to provide places where people feel safe and enjoy living. Provision of sustainable communities is a strategic goal!

Energy and CO2 emissions

  • To limit emissions of CO2 to the atmosphere arising from production of heating, hot water and electricity through a community heating system.
  • Where possible we will utilise combined heat and power plants linking with other local providers / developments.
  • To future proof the energy efficiency of properties by limiting heat loss using high level insulation, provide energy efficient lighting, a secure drying space for clothes will be provided to each property.

Water

  • To reduce the amount of water used in each development by water efficient fittings, appliances, and water recycling systems.
  • To recycle rainwater for external irrigation helping to reduce the discharge of rainfall to the public sewers and water course reducing risk of localised flooding and pollution.

Materials

  • To use materials with lower environmental impacts, responsibly sourcing materials from the main building to the internal fittings.

Waste

  • To promote effective management of water disposal, providing internal and external storage for both non-recyclable and recyclable household waste.
  • Whenever possible, a communal composting service will be provided for normal domestic garden and compostable household waste.

Pollution and ecology

  • Sufficient space and services will be provided to allow for a home office.
  • Adequate safe and secure weather-proof cycle storage will be provided for each dwelling.
  • To enhance the ecological values we will respond to all key recommendations made by an appointed ecologist.

Health and well being

  • High sound insulation to reduce the sound transmission between dwellings.
  • To construct life time homes to meet needs of current and future occupants.
  • To design an environment where people feel safe and secure within the development.
