Intro
The London Borough of Waltham Forest has granted planning permission for a 344 unit mixed-use development comprising of private and affordable homes up to five storeys in height, with landscaped community spaces, shops, offices, a community centre and public square that will help lead the regeneration of the area. The site was a former warehouse, industrial works and electronics factory located on Billet Road, Waltham Forest.
The Banbury Park development will deliver key regeneration benefits to the former industrial site through the creation of landscaped garden squares and linear parkland designed to enhance connectivity via Billet Road and Cheney Row. The landmark building located on the corner of Billet Road will create a state-of-the-art centre offering the residents of Walthamstow a brand new community business forum and crèche facilities.
A wide variety of homes will be built to reflect the housing needs of the borough, ranging from 1-4 bedroom apartments, maisonettes and houses. In addition over 2,400 sq ft of retail and commercial space will be built to house a major new anchor retail unit, as well as additional smaller shops, boutique stores and business premises. All the properties have been designed to meet Sustainable Code Level 4.
Planning permission was granted by the London Borough of Waltham Forest in May 2012.
